Eight Payne & Fears LLP Attorneys Recognized in Super Lawyers 2018 Southern California Rising Stars List

Irvine, Calif. – Payne & Fears LLP is pleased to announce that eight attorneys have been named to Super Lawyers 2018 Southern California Rising Stars list. Their names are: Ray Boggess, Jared De Jong, Andrew Haeffele, Scott Luskin, Rhianna Hughes, Leilani Jones, Robert Matsuishi and Alejandro Ruiz.

Ray Boggess, a partner in the Irvine office, represents and advises employers in all aspects of employment law. He defends employers in single-plaintiff cases at both the trial court and appellate level in matters involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, wage-and-hour laws, and other related claims.

Jared De Jong, a partner in the Irvine office, represents policyholders in insurance disputes and helps clients solve challenging insurance and risk-management problems. Jared is a member of Payne & Fears’ “Technology, Startups and Emerging Growth Companies” Practice Group.  And he frequently speaks to attorneys and business leaders on hot-button insurance topics.

Andrew K. Haeffele, a partner in the Irvine office, handles all aspects of employment and business litigation matters, with a particular focus on defending claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower status, family and medical leave, unfair labor practices, and wage-and-hour class actions.

Scott O. Luskin, a partner in the Business Litigation Group and Managing Partner of the Los Angeles office, focuses on complex commercial and business litigation and represents a wide range of clients, including individuals, various types of business entities, non-profit hospitals and large corporations.  He has experience in all aspects of business litigation, including law and motion practice, alternative dispute resolution and trial.

Rhianna S. Hughes is an associate in the employment and business litigation law groups in both the firm’s Phoenix and Irvine office, She defends employers in both state and federal courts in matters involving discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, unfair competition, and breach of contract.

Leilani Livingston Jones, an associate attorney in the Business Litigation and Insurance Coverage groups in the Irvine office, practices complex commercial litigation, including breach of contract, intellectual property, and real property disputes. She has also experience representing policyholders in insurance-related matters, and has assisted clients with complex class actions.

Robert Tadashi Matsuishi, an associate in the Irvine office, has experience in complex business matters involving trade secret misappropriation, non-competition agreements, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, securities fraud, corporate governance violations, and real property disputes. He also has extensive experience litigating labor and employment matters, with a focus on wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases, wage-and-hour claims, and False Claims Act actions.

Alex Ruiz, an associate in the firm’s Irvine office, focuses on all aspects of employment litigation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, whistleblower status, family and medical leave, and wage-and-hour class actions. In addition, Alex handles various types of business litigation cases involving executive agreements and separations, non-compete agreements, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and contract disputes.
