Payne & Fears Recovers $2.1 Million in Insurance Proceeds

Las Vegas office partners Scott S. Thomas and Sarah J. Odia recovered more than $2.1 million for a Fortune 500 homebuilder from a group of additional-insured carriers in reimbursement of costs the homebuilder incurred to defend three high-exposure construction defect lawsuits. We also recovered from the same carriers 100 percent of Payne & Fears LLP’s fees and costs incurred pursuing the litigation. By litigating multiple related claims against the same insurers and utilizing an aggressive litigation strategy that compelled the insurers to participate in an early mediation, Payne & Fears was able to recover the entire amount early in the litigation.
