Payne & Fears Obtains Full Dismissal of Retaliation and Wrongful Termination Claims

Payne and Fears obtained summary judgment in Khajavi v. Palmdale Regional Hospital. Plaintiff Khajavi, who contracted with the Palmdale Regional Hospital through his medical corporation, asserted claims against six defendants related to his contract, challenged his status as a contractor, and claimed wrongful termination based on alleged retaliation under Labor Codes section 1102.5 and Business & Professions Code sections 2056 and 510. In this case, we represented an individual physician, the regional medical director of the hospital group that owned Palmdale Regional, against claims of retaliation and wrongful termination. Summary judgment was granted completely in favor of our client.
