Matthew K. Brown focuses on business, real estate, and insurance coverage litigation. Matt represents clients in state and federal courts in complex business and commercial litigation matters, including partnership/shareholder disputes, business tort claims, insurance coverage actions, trust and probate litigation, and construction litigation. He handles a broad range of real estate matters, including mortgage and foreclosure litigation, deficiency judgment proceedings, title insurance claims, and unlawful detainer actions. Matt also has experience with class action litigation.
Matt is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He is a former member of the Brigham Young University Moot Court Team, and served as a student coach for the Brigham Young University Jessup International Moot Court Team. Matt received the Brigham Young University Distinguished Clinical Practice Award in 2005, and he was awarded an academic scholarship from 2002 through 2005.
Before joining Payne & Fears LLP, Matt was an associate at Hutchison & Steffen, LLC in Las Vegas, Nevada. He previously served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Delissa A. Ridgway of the U.S. Court of International Trade in New York.
