James R. Moss, Jr. is a principal attorney in the Labor and Employment Law Group at Payne & Fears LLP where he specializes in representing employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in all areas of employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, class actions, and trade secret litigation. He has extensive experience counseling clients on wage and hour issues, family and medical leave, disability accommodation, employee privacy and various other employment law matters. Mr. Moss also advises clients in traditional labor matters including organizing, collective bargaining, strikes and picketing, and has represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Moss was selected to Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Stars in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, and has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
Mr. Moss frequently lectures on employment law subjects. He served as Senior Editor of the Brigham Young University Law Review.
Prior to joining Payne & Fears LLP, Mr. Moss was an associate with Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in Los Angeles, California. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable A. Andrew Hauk of the United States District Court for the Central District of Los Angeles.
