Richard K. Zepfel specializes in business transactions and employment law counseling. Mr. Zepfel has extensive experience handling corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and major contracts. Mr. Zepfel handles real estate matters including acquisitions and leasing of commercial and industrial properties. His employment law practice includes preparation and negotiation of executive employment agreements, executive compensation plans and equity incentives, separation/severance agreements and employee handbooks.
Mr. Zepfel is a member and Past Chair of the Orange County Bar Association, Business and Corporations Section, and previously was a Licensed Real Estate Broker. While in law school, he served as a Notes Editor for the Southern California Law Review. Mr. Zepfel has served as a Trustee of Laguna College of Art and Design and President of Beckman Aquatics Boosters, and is the Past Chair of St. Cecilia’s School Board.
Prior to joining Payne & Fears LLP, Mr. Zepfel was the managing partner of the Orange County office of Graham & James LLP, and previously an associate at Paul, Hastings, Janofsy & Walker.
Mr. Zepfel was recently recognized as one of Orange County's top five corporate lawyers by OC Metro magazine.
